Earring, 2009

Gratitude, 2011

Coming to photography from a liberal arts and business background, I have a BA in history and French Language and Literature from Smith College, in Northampton, Massachusetts, and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. A passion for design and balance working in marketing and publications design at the Racine Art Museum has led me back to the importance of images.

In the last decade, I have worked behind, in front of, next to and beyond the camera.

A film enthusiast and photographer, I have volunteered with the Milwaukee Film Festival as a programming committee member since the inception of the event in 2009, evaluating both shorts and feature length productions. Previously, I volunteered with the Milwaukee International Film Festival, and have occasionally appeared in local video productions.

For me, film and video connect directly back to still photography. An award-winning photographer, I am currently an Artist Affiliate of Material Studios + Gallery. My images have been featured in juried regional exhibitions and  invitational group shows, such as Indiana Green at Frank Juarez Gallery in Sheboygan, Wisconsin and  An Exhibition of Visual Images: A Juried Photography Show at the Anderson Arts Center in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

My project cinephile was presented recently in one of just four 2013 Featured Member Exhibitions at Walker's Point Center for the Arts (WPCA), each of which were awarded at the 2012 WPCA Members Show.  My work was featured in a solo photography exhibition at Leenhouts Gallery in Milwaukee and at ArtPrize 2013 and ArtPrize 2011 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Expanding my focus to include organizing exhibitions, I have curated shows at Racine Arts Council ArtSpace and EFFJAY PROJEKTS Gallery (now Frank Juarez Gallery) in Sheboygan.

Bringing my experience with marketing and art photography together, I am a member of the steering committees for get bEHIND the aRTS studio tour of Racine and Kenosha and ArtRoot in Racine, as well as a former Board Member for the Coalition of Photographic Arts (CoPA).

As a Contributor to Art City, I write for the popular arts and architecture blog at JSOnline. My art exhibition reviews have also been published in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, print edition.
